Get Lunch from the Restaurants at the Market House in Nashville
I’m always a fan of a good food hall, so it’s not surprising that I love getting lunch at the Market House at the Nashville Farmers’ Market. While the outdoor farm sheds at the market are only open on the weekends, you can visit the restaurants and shops at the Market House every day.
You’ll find 20 locally-owned shops and restaurants offering all kinds of food from Southern BBQ to Korean to Middle Eastern. Of course, one of my favorites is Music City Crepes because I will never pass up the chance to order a banana and Nutella crepe. In fact, I like going to the Market House so much that it made it onto my 24-hour guide to Nashville.
You can get coffee at Farm City Coffee, grab a waffle cone from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, try the tacos at Succulent Vegan Tacos, or sip some bubble tea from Bubble Love. You can even do a wine tasting at the shop owned by Natchez Hills Winery. The Market House is a great place to meet up with a group of friends or to bring family because everyone can pick exactly what they want.
I actually prefer to get lunch here during the week rather than on the weekends because there are much smaller crowds then. Just be aware that most of the restaurants close before dinner, so it really is more of a lunch place.
The Nashville Farmers’ Market shares a parking lot with the Tennessee State Museum and it’s also right next to the Bicentennial Mall and the Tennessee State Capitol building. If you’re sightseeing or if you’re just near downtown Nashville, the Market House is one of the best places to get a reasonably cheap meal.
If you haven’t been to the Market House or if it’s been a while since your last visit, definitely make plans to check out what’s going on there. A new location of Pink Door Cookies opened recently and it’s worth visiting!
