Icy Boy’s is a snowball stand that opened up in Nashville last summer. The spot serves New Orleans-style shaved snowballs as well as breakfast sandwiches.

After living near New Orleans for so long, I’m a huge snowball fan, so obviously I had to check out Icy Boy’s, especially since I’ve been so pleased every time I’ve gotten a po boy at Spicy Boy’s just across the street.

We knew that Spicy Boy’s was working on something at the property where Slow Burn used to be. So when I saw the building painted pink and the gator mural go up with Icy Boy’s Snowballs written across it, I was pretty excited.

I’d like to pretend that I’ve been to Icy Boy’s a reasonable amount of times, but I have, in fact, gone to get a snowball three times in the past week. The clear syrups like French vanilla and wedding cake are my favorites. Although the bright ones are much prettier and look better in photos.

You can get sweetened condensed milk added to any flavor, which I’d highly recommend. I also heard someone ask for a rainbow snowcone even though it wasn’t listed on the menu, so that’s also an option.

The snow cones are available all day. In the morning, you can also get breakfast sandwiches. With Cajun options like andouille and boudin. I haven’t tried the sandwiches yet, but if they’re as good as the poboys at Spicy Boy’s, then they are perfect.

Since Icy Boy’s is still so new, things have been a little different every time I’ve visited so far. People seem really excited about the spot (and by people, I don’t just mean me). The menu and hours will likely change as the place adjusts to the customer base. They’ve also opened up a seating area and a picnic table just in time for summer 2024, so that is exciting, too!

The only issue I’ve had with Icy Boy’s is getting into and out of the parking lot. This wouldn’t be an issue if you parked across the street at Spicy Boy’s and walked over though.

It’s exciting to see a new spot open up in East Nashville, especially one that is completely different from anything else you can find here. There are so few spots in Nashville selling snow cones which makes Icy Boy’s a great addition to the neighborhood and to the city overall.

Icy Boy’s is located at 726 Mcferrin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206.
