Fairytales Bookstore, the Perfect Stop for Unique Children’s Books and Toys in Nashville
Nashville can always use more bookstores–no matter how tiny they are. Fairytales Bookstore is a micro-shop (seriously it’s very small) in the Five Point Alley Shops carrying children’s books and toys.
Of course, I had to check it out as a former teacher and mom to a toddler, especially since I was already planning to put together a list of the best bookstores in Nashville.
Here are my thoughts on whether Fairytales Bookstore is worth visiting or not.
Shopping at Fairytales Bookstore
Like I said above, Fairytales Bookstore is very tiny, so you’ll be in and out pretty quickly even if you look at every single thing in the store. Every inch is packed full of children’s books and toys though, so it feels like a magical little space.
As far as books go, there are board books, picture books, and chapter books for a wide range of ages. You’ll find the most popular kids’ titles along with some unique fun titles.
Besides books, the store also has a good selection of toys. You’ll find classic toys, stuffed animals, puzzles, and more. I particularly like that they usually have several science kits that older kids will love.
Fairytales Bookstore also carries some basic art supplies like markers, crayons, and sketchbooks. You can typically find several different coloring books as well as DIY kits for creative kids.
The store is the perfect place to buy presents for kids (or to bring kids to pick out a new toy or book). I really like the size of the store for bringing kids into because it’s not so big that choosing just one or two new things is overwhelming like it can be at some toy stores. Plus, it’s also nice to support a local store anyway.
Keep in mind that since the bookstore is small, it’s not practical to get a larger stroller inside, but you probably wouldn’t have an issue carrying a baby around the store if needed.
If you’re looking to pick up a toy or book for a child in your life, Fairytales Bookstore is definitely worth visiting!
