East Park Donuts Review – Searching for the Best Donuts in Nashville
Last updated 12/2/24
To me, there’s nothing better than starting the day off with donuts (or stopping by a donut shop for an afternoon treat). So clearly, I need to try all the donuts shops in and around Nashville to decide which donuts are the best. With a list of over 16 donut shops to try, I decided to start with East Park Donut in East Nashville.
I convinced my husband to come along with me. In our excitement over donuts, we showed up at East Park Donuts at 7:30 am Saturday morning. Exactly when East Park Donuts is listed as opening. The lights were still off in the storefront, and we saw people at work in the kitchen. Nashville does not really attract an early morning weekend crowd. Since we were so early, we were the only ones there when the staff unlocked the door.
Spoiler – East Park Donuts did, in fact, make my best of East Nashville guide.
A Fun Morning Hangout
When it comes to ambiance, East Park Donuts is absolutely on it. We were there a little too early to hang out and take Instagram photos, but it would be a great place to meet up with a couple of friends.
I’ve heard that the margarita donut is the one to try at this shop. There weren’t any available, but we still found half a dozen delicious-looking donuts to try out. The donuts are all made-from-scratch. You can choose from regular donuts as well as gluten-friendly, vegan, keto, and paleo donuts, so there really is something for everyone.
The traditional flavors we tried were amazing. My favorite was the salted brown butter donut. The little hint of savory mixed with sweet was perfection. I’ve been back multiple times since this first visit, and the salted brown butter is still my favorite. I also absolutely love the king cake-inspired donuts they make for Mardi Gras.
The donut prices were slightly higher than I’ve seen at some other donut shops in East Nashville, but these were very substantial donuts. You’re getting more than just a sweet, puff of air you can devour in 5 seconds.
Would I recommend East Park Donuts?
If you’re in East Nashville, I’d definitely say East Park Donuts are a good option. You can easily get a half dozen or dozen great-tasting donuts to go, or you can meet up with a friend and spend time sipping coffee or tea along with your sweet treats.
