Brightside Bakeshop, A Practically Perfect Bakery in Nashville

The ham and cheese brioche & the cinnaroll from Brightside Bakeshop

As of writing, Brightside Bakeshop has a near perfect 5-star rating on Google. The bakery has two locations, one in East Nashville and one West Nashville location.

Obviously, I had to stop by the East Nashville location to see what’s going on at this artisan bakery that constantly comes up when locals share their favorite spots in Nashville. Spoiler: Brightside Bakeshop absolutely makes my list of favorite places in East Nashville.

What to Expect at Brightside Bakeshop

Brightside Bakeshop (East) is located in a tiny storefront in the Shops at Porter East. There’s really not much seating, but the focus here is really on the pastries. And, the baked goods deliver!

Inside you’ll find a case with a selection of pastries including cinnarolls, croissants, brioche, and tarts. I tried out a cinnaroll, which is one of their signature creations, and a ham and cheese brioche. The cinnaroll was absolutely perfect. It had a great texture with just the right amount of sweetness from the sugar and the icing. I liked the ham and cheese brioche, but I usually go for sweet over savory.

Throughout the year, Brightside Bakeshop also offers special treats and specialty items on the menu from time to time.

The bakery is very popular, and some options sell out quickly. Certain fans place their orders online at 3 pm the day before to get the best selection, so consider doing that if you want to pick from the most choices.

I will be back for the cinnaroll far too often in the future. According to the bakery’s website, the key to their pastries is the high-quality ingredients, and what they’re doing is certainly working!

Brightside Bakeshop has two locations in Nashville. See their website for locations and hours and to order your pastries in advance if desired!
