Don’t Miss Out on the Weekly East Nashville Farmers’ Market
Nashville has a decent number of options when it comes to farmers’ markets, which is nice because spending an afternoon picking up local produce and a treat or two is a great spring or summer activity. One of my favorites to visit is the East Nashville Farmers’ Market.

Getting to the East Nashville Farmers’ Market
The East Nashville Farmers’ Market is easy to find on Woodland Street. There’s free parking at the lot where 6th and Main Street meet. You can also park at the First Church of the Nazarene right across the street (which is what I normally do because the other lot fills up fast).
If you’re getting to the market right when it opens at 3:30 pm be aware that there’s a school zone nearby. Depending on which street you use to come in, you might run into traffic from the school pick-up line. It only takes an extra minute or two if you get stuck, but you’ll want to make sure to watch the crossguards directing the traffic.
What I Love about the East Nashville Farmers’ Market
One of the best things about this particular farmers’ market, in my opinion, is that it takes place on a weekday. Most of the other farmers’ markets in Nashville happen on the weekends, so it’s nice to have an option on Tuesday afternoon/evening.
The market has food trucks and stalls selling treats along with stalls selling produce, so it’s a good midweek outing that’s still pretty low-key and relaxed. Plus, I’m always overly ambitious about how much produce I will use during the week on a Saturday morning. By Tuesday afternoon, I am much more realistic about what our home-cooked meals will actually be for the rest of the week.
The market has a good mix of vendors, so you really can get a little something of everything – seasonal fruits and vegetables, baked goods, eggs, meat, flowers, and much more. The two things that are always on my list when I go are a lemonade from LoveFest Lemonade and the blackberry jelly from Honey Child Jellies. Not every single vendor is there every week, but there’s always plenty to choose from.
Another good reason to visit the East Nashville Farmers’ Market is because some of the best food in town starts off being sold from vendors at the market. I used to beeline right for FatBelly Pretzel as soon as I got to the market because the pretzels would sell out so quickly, and now they have their own location on Gallatin.
Visiting the farmers’ market is such a great way to support local businesses, and it’s made even easier since there are so many all in one place. It’s a fun community event to attend.
The only thing that I don’t absolutely love about the East Nashville Farmers’ Market is that there’s not a ton of shade in the parking lot where the market takes place. It’s not an issue every week, but when it’s a particularly warm day, the asphalt holds so much heat. So keep that in mind when deciding what to wear to the market during the summer.
If you’ve never been, I’d absolutely suggest going to the East Nashville Farmers’ Market at least once!
