Five Points Pizza – Delicious Slices on Both Sides of Nashville

Me at the West Nashville Five Points Pizza

Last updated: 7/1/24

Lots of people complain that Nashville doesn’t have “good” pizza, and while we might not have the same number of options as New York City or Chicago. It’s entirely possible to get a decent slice of pizza here.

Five Points Pizza first opened in East Nashville (in Five Points, as you can probably guess from the name) in 2011 serving NYC-style pizza. They were clearly doing something right because Five Points Pizza expanded to a West Nashville location in Sylvan Park in 2018. (You can find more of my East Nashville recommendations here!)

We first tried out Five Point Pizza while living in Sylvan Park and have been coming back consistently since then. We’ve done both dine-in and carry-out, and it’s one of the spots I bring friends to when they visit Nashville. (I also go there for lunch way too often on my own).

What to Expect at Five Points Pizza

Slices from Five Points

Both Five Points Pizza locations have two sides. One is for dine-in and the other is for carry-out. At the West Nashville location, you can order a slice on the carry-out side and eat it at the counter, but that’s not currently an option at the original location in East Nashville. Space is a bit more limited there.

The menu at Five Points Pizza includes both full-size pizza and slices. I usually prefer ordering by the slice rather than a whole pie because the slices are huge. For slices, you always have cheese, pepperoni, and prosciutto and basil (which is my favorite) as options. There’s also a veggie slice of the day and a meat slice of the day available as well.

Of course, you can’t go wrong with one of the whole pies either. At this point, I’ve tried basically all of them as slices except the pineapple one and the habanero one, and they’re all delicious.

You can tell that the ingredients used are high-quality because the pizzas have so much flavor. Unless you have access to outstanding pizza on a regular basis, the pizzas at Five Points will probably be some of the best you’ve had in a while.

There are also garlic knots, salads, and the other offerings you’d expect to find at a pizza place on the menu as well. If you have room, the garlic knots are absolutely perfect.

One of the best things about Five Points Pizza is the lunch specials. The two-slice special is my go-to because it includes two slices plus a drink. You can also choose the knot and salad special or the slice and salad special. The specials are only available on weekdays from 11-4 pm and cost either $11 or $12 each. For a meal in Nashville, this is a great price.

Like I said earlier, the slices are huge, so when I get the two-slice special, I almost always end up taking the second slice home. It heats up just fine as leftovers.

The Happy Hour special on weekdays from 2-6 pm with a slice and a beer seems like a good deal as well. Each location has 16 different beers on tap, so if that’s something you’re into, it’s worth checking out.

Five Points Pizza is a great place to go with children especially if you’re able to go outside of peak times (otherwise the wait might be difficult for certain ages). Any time we’ve brought our daughter, the staff has been able to get a high chair to the table right away and bring some kid’s dough for her to play with while we wait. Since we always do the slices, the food gets out pretty quickly.

The location in East Nashville really does feel like a cozy hole-in-the-wall pizza spot while the West Nashville location is a bit shinier and has some elements that add a retro flair. I prefer dining in at the West Nashville location because the parking is easier, but there’s a lot more going on in the Five Points area of East Nashville.

You can find out more info about Five Points Pizza and check the menu on the restaurant’s website.
